INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER – Botswana Meat Commission (Bmc) 780 views

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate implementation of Risk Based Audit.
• Provide independent and objective evaluations of financial and operational business activities.
• Plans financial, regulatory, compliance or operational reviews/ audits.
• Periodically analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of the control system in place to mitigate risk and promote the control culture of the organization.
• Liaise with all departments within the organisation to ensure effective and efficient auditing operation.
• Prepares base for an external audit process and coordinates all audit activities with external auditors.
• Recommend and streamline changes in policies and procedures in a way that shall impact positively on the achievement of goals and objectives of the commission.
• Monitor and review performance of internal auditors annually.
• Assess the Commission’s adherence to governance frameworks, including BAOA compliance.

Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or relevant field
• Full professional accounting qualification (CIA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Knowledge of ACL audit software is preferred.
• At least fifteen (15) years’ post-qualification experience within the Internal Audit or Audit function, including a minimum of five (5) years in a managerial role within an Internal Audit or Audit environment.
• In depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, procedures and accepted auditing standards.
• Comprehensive knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
• Results oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced computer literacy skills- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
