Key Responsibilities

• ERP Mastery: Efficiently manage daily financial data entry and processing within Sage/ERP systems.
• Bank Reconciliations: Perform complex, multi-account bank reconciliations to ensure 100% accuracy in cash flow reporting.
• AR Management: Oversee the Accounts Receivable lifecycle, from invoicing to collections, ensuring timely payments and healthy aging reports.
• Month-End Support: Play a pivotal role in the month-end closure process, ensuring all journals, accruals, and reconciliations are finalized within deadlines.
• Financial Integrity: Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities promptly.
• ERP/Accounting Software Mastery: Proficiency in systems like Sage. They should understand how modules (AP, AR, GL) talk to one another.
• Advanced Excel: Beyond simple sums. They must be comfortable with VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and If-statements to clean and analyse large datasets.
• Data Integrity: A deep understanding of how manual entries impact the automated trial balance.

Requirements

• Technical Proficiency: Prior experience with Sage or a similar ERP system is highly preferred. We also value candidates who demonstrate high “teachability” and a natural aptitude for picking up new software.
• Reconciliation Expert: Proven track record of handling high-volume bank reconciliations and identifying “needle in a haystack” errors.
• AR Savvy: Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable management and credit control best practices.
• Deadline Driven: Solid experience meeting the high-pressure demands of month-end and year-end closures.
• Education: Degree in Accounting, AAT fully Qualified, or a related field or equivalent and studying towards a professional qualification is an added advantage.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years professional experience.
