Bank Gaborone is seeking to appoint a Manager: Liquidity & Funding. To support the development, coordination, and execution of funding and liquidity management strategies that ensure the bank maintains an efficient, diversified, and risk appropriate funding structure. The role manages day to day funding activities, monitors liquidity positions, supports regulatory compliance, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to deliver cost effective funding solutions and strengthen balance sheet resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute secured and unsecured funding programmes, including repo transactions, structured notes, and institutional debt issuances.
- Assist in delivering a cost‑efficient and risk‑appropriate funding mix aligned to the bank’s funding strategy.
- Monitor funding markets, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations for optimal issuance timing.
- Manage day‑to‑day utilization and maintenance of issuance platforms.
- Support the development of innovative funding solutions to diversify and optimize the funding base.
- Monitor daily and structural liquidity positions in line with the bank’s Liquidity Risk Framework.
- Support liquidity forecasting, including short‑term and medium‑term funding needs.
- Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and adherence to regulatory liquidity metrics (LCR, NSFR, LAR) and internal funding indicators.
- Assist in the calibration and marking of internal FTP curves and money market funding curves.
- Design, maintain, and improve operational processes that support daily treasury activities and funding execution.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and treasury governance standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and transaction records.
- Support performance measurement of the success and efficiency of the funding strategy.
- Engage with market participants, intermediaries, and investors to support funding execution.
- Monitor market developments that affect funding costs, regulatory requirements, and liquidity conditions.
- Support initiatives that enhance market access or improve funding competitiveness.
- Work closely with Treasury teams, Finance, Risk, and business units to ensure alignment in funding and liquidity decisions.
- Provide funding insights and support product liability structuring initiatives.
- Assist business units in the development and growth of the bank’s deposit franchise.
- Coordinate implementation of funding decisions across internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Analysis, or a related quantitative/financial discipline.
