Key Responsibilities

• The incumbent will be responsible for senior level decision making, day to day management and strategic direction to the financial management and reporting functions to ensure the financial integrity of the University through accurate and timely financial records, overall procurement functions in accordance with established procurement policies, procedures and regulations, whilst ensuring economy, efficiency, transparency, fairness, accountability/ethical standards and promoting competition.
• To expertly guide the work of the department’s staff, steer them towards effective delivery of the department’s mandate and achievement of its goals, and ensure optimal use of all resources within the department.

Requirements

• At least a Masters in Finance or related field from a recognised institution.
• Professional accountancy certification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS, ACPA or equivalent.
• IAS, IFRS and IPSAS
• At least ten (10) years of finance post-qualification experience, five (5) years of should have been at Assistant Director level or equivalent.
• Experience in financial planning management and reporting fiscal management, capital development projects, risk management accounting and financial accounting in big organisation and experience in Oracle is essential
