REVENUE ASSURANCE OFFICER (x1)
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of regulated revenues through revenue assurance audits and compliance reviews, while also supporting the Finance function through preparation of reconciliations, financial schedules, and financial statements in line with approved accounting standards and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct revenue assurance audits and reviews of licensees to verify revenue declarations, levies, and related submissions
- Plan, execute, and document revenue assurance audits in accordance with approved methodologies and procedures
- Perform reconciliations between reported revenues, levies due, actual collections, and accounting records
- Analyse trends, variances, and anomalies to identify revenue risks, leakages, or non-compliance
- Assess compliance with licence conditions, Acts, Regulations, and approved guidelines
- Prepare audit working papers, findings, and revenue assurance reports
- Engage licensees during audits, inspections, and follow-up processes
- Prepare and maintain general ledger and revenue reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audits
- Assist with revenue-related journal entries and financial analysis
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Economics, or related field
- At least 4 years’ experience in revenue assurance, auditing, or finance, with demonstrated exposure to:
- Revenue assurance audits or financial/compliance audits
- General ledger and revenue reconciliations
- Financial statements and reporting processes
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and report-writing skills
- Sound understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and audit processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
- High ethical standards and professional judgement
- Audit experience in a regulatory or public sector environment
- Experience conducting audits of external entities or regulated operators
- Exposure to ERP systems (for example Sage or similar)
- Advanced progress toward completion of, or membership of, a recognised professional qualification (ACCA, CIA, CIMA, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI
