Okavango Scenic Flights is seeking a highly experienced Chief Pilot – Fixed Wing Operations to lead and oversee our fixed-wing division based in Maun, Botswana. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a team of professional pilots and ensure the highest standards of safety, training, and operational excellence in one of the world’s most iconic aviation environments – the Okavango Delta.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, support, and supervise all fixed-wing pilots, ensuring high standards of performance and professionalism
- Oversee pilot licensing, medicals, and ratings compliance
- Ensure adequate crew availability and scheduling in line with operational requirements and duty time limitations
- Develop and implement the Training and Checking Programme in compliance with national regulations and company goals
- Oversee the compilation and maintenance of Operations Manuals
- Plan, organize, and supervise training and checking activities in accordance with operations manuals
- Assess and analyse training feedback, implementing corrective actions where necessary
Requirements
- Valid ICAO Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Multi-Engine and Instrument Rating
- Minimum 3,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
- Minimum 2,000 hours on turboprop aircraft
- Minimum 400 hours on pressurized high-performance aircraft
- Minimum 500 hours night and instrument time
- Minimum 1,500 hours instruction given
- Experience in VIP charter, medical evacuation, and bush flying operations
- Experience in managing or supervising flight operations. Strong leadership, mentoring, and decision-making skills
- Botswana citizenship or residency
- CAAB Designated Examiner Certification
