The role will act as the key contact point on the financial reporting and analysis of all diamond related transactions within Diamond Trading spanning actuals, forecasting and ad hoc analysis with a focus on optimising Diamond Trading’s financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning: Co-ordinate activities for reporting and analysis of diamond transactions
  • Governance: Ensure adherence to internal controls (ICFR RACM) requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for stock reporting
  • Reporting and analysis: Review of the monthly trading account and supporting schedules, including diamond stock holding.
  • NRV assessments: Perform NRV assessments to ensure accurate inventory provision reporting alongside a coherent and well understood basis of preparation
  • Budgets and forecasts: Review of budgets and forecasts and ensure in line with guidance and IFRS requirements
  • Long term planning: Preparation of long term plans for trading account, in line with guidance issued.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform analysis of the trading account as required, including margin and pricing analysis, ad hoc analysis. Provide input into the monthly Flash reports, Quarterly Performance Reports and Business Planning Reports.

Requirements

  • Qualified with a relevant accounting qualification – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent – and preferably “Big 4” trained with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience.
  • Strong accounting and excel skills are essential.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and have the motivation and drive to be an integral part of process and system improvements.
  • Experience of accounting-based software applications would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of modelling techniques (discounted cash flows, etc.) would be an advantage
  • Excellent degree of motivation, an ability to identify problems, an aptitude for critical thinking and the ability to identify and implement solutions towards their successful resolution,
  • Demonstratable experience with regards to systems and process improvement.
  • An understanding of local market working practices, and an ability to communicate effectively across the Group.
