THE OPPORTUNITY
The Chief Operating Officer is a pivotal executive leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence and enabling the successful execution of the Group’s strategy.

Operating at the centre of the organisation, the COO will oversee core enabling functions including People and Culture, Technology, Strategic Projects, and Subsidiary Performance, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and scalability across the Group.

This role will play a critical part in translating strategy into execution, enhancing organisational effectiveness, and positioning the Exchange for sustained growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Strategy & Execution: Drive the implementation of the Group’s strategy through an integrated and high-performing operating model.
People & Culture Oversight: Provide executive oversight of the people and culture agenda, ensuring alignment with organisational performance and transformation priorities.
Technology & Digital Enablement: Oversee the technology strategy to enhance operational efficiency, digital capability, and innovation across the Exchange.
Strategic Projects: Lead the delivery of key enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring timely execution, value realisation, and alignment with strategic priorities.
Subsidiary Oversight: Ensure effective shared services support and provide performance oversight of subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with the Group’s strategy.
Operational Excellence & Risk: Strengthen governance, risk management, and operational processes across the organisation.

Requirements

A postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
15+ years of progressive leadership experience, including significant executive-level responsibility in operations, strategy, or transformation roles.
Proven track record in driving operational excellence and large-scale transformation initiatives.
Strong understanding of financial services or capital markets environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at Board and Executive level.
Experience overseeing technology, transformation programmes, and multi-entity structures is highly desirable.
