Key Responsibilities
- Support service departments within branches that are under his/her area of responsibility.
- Source suppliers for fruits and vegetables and negotiate competitive price deals to gain pricing competitiveness.
- Ensure that there are adequate product ranges for selected product categories to meet customers’ product/services needs.
- Implement initiatives that will assist service departments to achieve sales revenue targets and gross profit growth.
- Ensure that merchandising and house-keeping standards are maintained as per the company’s specifications.
- Implement shrinkage control procedures to minimize stock losses (shrinkage) and promote staff participation in fighting shrinkage.
- Review management reports and take corrective actions to meet operational objectives.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in commerce, business management, retail management or a related field of study.
- At least ten (10) years’ work experience in management positions within the wholesale/retail (FMCG) sector
- Strong background in managing/supporting service departments: fruits and vegetables, bakery, butchery, and deli departments.
- Be able to supervise a team of sub-ordinates, maintain staff discipline, and ensure optimal productivity.
- Be conversant with health and safety standards applicable to environments that deal with handling edible groceries and ready-to-eat foods.
- Be able to spot business opportunities within service departments to enhance sales performance, gross profit opportunities, and minimize stock losses.
- Possession of a Class B driver’s license.
