Key Responsibilities
- Manage the school’s financial operations, accounting records and annual budgets.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliations and financial reports.
- Oversee school fee administration, debt collection and revenue management.
- Maintain the school’s asset register and financial controls.
- Coordinate annual budgeting, external audits and statutory reporting.
- Support the Principals and the Board of Governors with financial planning, forecasting and strategic reporting.
- Administer payroll processes where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry regulations, statutory requirements and audit recommendations.
Requirements
- Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Botswana.
- Be a Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA or an equivalent internationally recognised professional accounting qualification.
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or a related field.
- Have a minimum of three to five years’ relevant experience in financial management, preferably within an educational institution or similarly complex organisation.
- Be registered with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA), where applicable.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of financial management systems, budgeting, accounting principles, procurement processes and financial controls.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), Sage Pastel Partner and Sage Premier Payroll.
- Have strong organisational, administrative and communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Experience with school financial management systems and public-sector financial procedures will be an added advantage.
