WORKSHOP MANAGER
THE WORKSHOP MANAGER WILL OVERSEE ALL WORKSHOP OPERATIONS. ENSURING OPTIMAL FLEET MAINTENANCE. STRICT SAFETY COMPLIANCE. AND CONTINUOUS OPERATIONAL READINESS OF FUEL TRUCKS AND TANKERS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fleet Maintenance & Operations: Plan, schedule, and supervise preventative maintenance and repairs to maximize fleet availability and minimize downtime.
- Quality Control: Ensure all maintenance and repairs meet manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
- Breakdown Management: Coordinate emergency repairs and manage breakdown teams to reduce operational disruptions.
- Technical Leadership: Diagnose complex mechanical faults—particularly diesel engines and heavy commercial vehicles—and provide technical guidance to workshop staff.
- Fuel Storage & Handling: Oversee maintenance of fuel pumping systems, ensure correct tank handling, and monitor fleet fuel consumption.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce health, safety, and regulatory requirements, ensuring all vehicles maintain valid permits and licenses.
- Supplier Management: Liaise with suppliers and external service providers, manage parts procurement, and evaluate outsourced repair services.
- Reporting & Records: Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair costs, and performance reports.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Atleast Diploma in Mechanical engineering or NCC in Heavy plant or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant workshop or fleet maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Aged between 24 and 35 years
- Physically fit
- Proficient in English and Setswana
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays and also travel outside the country when required
