Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the below mentioned positions tenable at IEC head office in Gaborone;
VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 2 OF 2019
VACANCY – PRINCIPAL INFORMATION EDUCATION AND RESEARCH OFFICER II
SALARY: D3 (P222,348.00 – P245,472.00) per annum
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.
BENEFITS:
• Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and Employee pays 50%).
• Contributory Pension Fund Scheme (Government pays 15% and Employee pays 5%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be in a possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with majors in (Demography/International Relations/Statistics/Mass Communication) or related field. A Master’s degree in the above fields. Short courses in Research would be added advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
At least eight (8) years Post Qualification Experience, two (2) years of which should have been served at D4 salary scale in Research related area in Government or equivalent level in Parastatal or Private Organisations.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Implements strategies for civic and voter education and conducts research for the organization on electoral issues and other matters as required from time to time
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Conducts research for the development and upgrading of the IEC programmes
• Develops civic voter education and information materials
• Monitors and evaluates civic voter education programmes, projects and processes
• Designs monitoring evaluation tools
• Coordinates the distribution of educational materials
• Facilitates in consultative meetings and workshops for stakeholders
• Coordinates and monitors the implementation of civic and voter education in the districts.
