Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assess learners to determine their individualised educational needs.
Plan, modify and deliver lessons to meet the needs of the learner.
Teach socially acceptable behaviour as determined by the learner’s individualised educational program.
Plan, organise and assign activities that are specific to each learner’s abilities.
Teach learners in small groups and one-on-one.
Collect data for providing appropriate classroom interventions.
Evaluate and update IEP’s throughout the school year to reflect learner’s progress and goals.
Maintain professional competence by supervising, mentoring and conducting performance reviews for support staff.
Prepare and support learners to transit to another level.
Prepare annual reports on learner’s progress.
Liaising with parents, professional and external agencies
Participate and monitor extra curricula activities and excursions.
Perform any other related work as required.
Required qualification, skills and Competencies
The suitable applicant should have a Degree in Special Education with speciality in Intellectual Disability/Learning difficulties and at least two year’s experience in the same field. He/she must be 25 years of age and above. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, leave days 24 days per annum.
