- Minimum Experience required
Experience: 3 years relevant experience in an industrial environment.
- Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities (Key Performance Areas)
- Develops a Health, Safety and Environment Program in accordance with legislative and organizational requirements.
- Promotes safety awareness amongst employees.
- Advices, assists and guides all staff in the techniques of accident prevention.
- Ensures that the company regulations and statutory requirements pertaining to health, safety and environment are communicated and enforced.
- Complies, implements and communicates SHE procedures.
- Conducts training needs analysis and identifies appropriate training on health and safety for all staff.
- Trains new and existing staff on different aspects of health and safety.
- Train fire Marshalls
- Conducts follow up to evaluate training effectiveness
- Investigates and analyses accidents/incidents and recommends appropriate action for the attention of the Corporate Quality & Safety Manager.
- Maintains the SHE information system
- Compiles reports to management and staff
- Inspects company property and prepares appropriate reports.
- Arranges occupational hygiene surveys in accordance with the departmental procedures and ensures implementation of recommendations thereof.
- Develops project objectives, sets relevant targets, project scoping and resource planning & allocation
- Develops project work plans, programs, use of technology, quality assurance and monitoring and evaluation procedures
- Develops the risk management/minimization plan for each project
- Manages project budgets and the preparation and submission of progress and final reports
- Ensures implementation of all Board and management action points to ensure project compliance to executive resolutions.
- Follow-ups with relevant stakeholders to ensure project effectiveness
- Identifies key risks and champions the development of risk management strategies to minimize operational risks.
- Facilitates performance audits to assess the impact of Air Botswana policies and programs in achieving its mandate.
