Key Responsibilities
– To receive accounts and review ability to pay and location of debtor or responsible relatives
– To ensure collection of debts from defaulting customers by issuing demand letters timeously.
– To obtain payments through responsible relatives or other means
– To renegotiate repayment schedules e.g. rescheduling of accounts and capitalization.
– To consult standard sources to locate debtor or property
– To request information from a variety of individuals, private and public agencies to determine assets and secure payments
– To ensure the updating of client data in terms of bad debt recovery.
– To ensure the effective record keeping and backups of all debt recovery documents
– To draw up, develop and implement an effective project visit schedule.
– To compose and respond to correspondences from and to clients
– To execute Agricultural Assets in terms of the Agricultural Charges Act (Cap 35:01)
– Prepare Notices of Sale as per the Notice of Attachment report from Deputy Sheriff.
– To place Notices of Sale in Execution in newspapers and Government Gazette in terms of the High Court Rules Order 52.
– To ensure collection of weekly issues of Government Gazette
– To attend sales in execution conducted by Deputy Sheriffs.
– To liaise with external debt collectors and provide assistance to them when needed.
– To initiate payments of external debt collectors, Deputy Sheriffs and legal adverts
– To identify accounts due for write off and prepare write off reports
– May orient and train new employees
Job Specifications
– Diploma in Banking /Credit Administration/Debt Management
– AAT/AIOB will bean added advantage
– Must have a minimum of 1-2years’debt recovery experience with a demonstrated track record.
