Duties: The successful applicant will be expected to: (i) teach both undergraduate and graduate public health courses focusing on health policy and health systems research (ii) supervise students’ research projects, (iii) conduct research in his/her areas of expertise, (iv) provide service for the university, profession and community and (v) additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake the following duties: research, research supervision, community service, research grant writing and resource mobilization, contribute towards departmental strategic plan development, and create relevant industry links for competency-based learning of the MMed residents nationally and or internationally (v) carry out any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants should have; (i) at least a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery or other recognized Medical Doctor qualification and a Master of Medicine in Public Health (MMed) with three (3) years experience in health systems research and policy development OR PhD in health systems research or policy development with three (3) years experience in health systems research and policy development; (ii) have at least three (3) years relevant teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; (iii) have an excellent cumulative and sustained record of research and publication with at least 6 relevant publications, 4 of which must be peer reviewed journal articles; (iv) lead and/or single author in at least 2 refereed journal articles or book chapters. The applicant should also demonstrate evidence of engagement in service. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.
