MHMK it currently looking for a Chief Finance Officer (CFO) The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing In order to fulfil his/her tasks, s/he will provide best-practice leadership vis-A-vis the employees The CFO will be from time to time seconded to group companies or investor companies of MHMK
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees all accounting procedures and systems used by the Group
- Ensure that accounting processes are done m line with IFRS
- Provide insight regarding transaction structuring, rationale and potential rides
- Constant evaluations and monitoring of internal controls
- Effective Budgetary control
- liaison with Auditors, lawyers and banks and ensure full compliance with regulations including audits whether Internal or external.
Annual or Interim
- Responsible for the day to day administration and management of the company as directed by the CEO
- Identify and bring together the right resources, stakeholders, content experts and decision-makers to meet goals Develop investment policies and guidelines and propose amendments that reflect both needs and financial markets evolution Develop business cases, project plans, team structure, and governance models
- Monitor the performance of the team according to agreed benchmarks and guidelines
- Ensuring that sufficient funding is available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements
- Co-ordinate various efforts across a range of functions and business units
Attributes and Experience
A minimum of 10 years’ experience with exposure at least in countries m SADC at a senior level in the microfinance sector
- The person should have experience in reporting lo boo and Board level
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics from a reputable institution
- Being a Holder of an MBA or MBL, Chartered Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst certificate is a must Involvement m listing of a business and raising of debt on a stock exchange is required.
- Flexible and resourceful.
- Excellent team skills as this job will require the candidate to work with different types of teams and cultures
- Requisite computer skills for presentations, communication and data analysis
- A thorough understanding of microfinance performance metrics/ indicators and the ability to interpret and process operations data
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- The capacity to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- The commitment and enthusiasm to work in a challenging environment
