SHE OFFICER

ROLE OUTLINE:

To facilitate and guide the implementation of the SHE programmes and ensure compliance with standards, relevant legislation and SHE requirements for the organisation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Facilitates safety risk assessments, analyzing the results thereof, to determine trends and come up with action plans to minimize and mitigate the identified risk.
• Monitors the implementation of emergency procedures to minimize the impact of disasters (Fire and SHE)
• Facilitates Investigations on incidents and accidents to determine causes and develop action plans to avoid reoccurrence.
• Keep and update records of all occupational injuries and diseases.
• Conducts regular SHE & risk audits inspections.
• Assisting with the interpretation of relevant legislation, policies, procedures and standards
• Facilitates the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of SHE management systems by advising on documents control, records control, closure of audits, objectives and targets and programs as well as departmental review.
• Assists in facilitating risk management for analyzing and monitoring SHE key indicators trends.
• Implements programs to induce behavior changes with regards to SHE that will prevent injuries and prevent repeats
• Facilitates training and awareness to improve SHE performance and compliance.
• Assists in formulating communication plan and topics for discussion to improve employees and management safety awareness.
• Generates reports to demonstrate SHE performance and actions required to improve SHE performance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of a Diploma or equivalent in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Environmental Science or related field.
• Three (3) years’ experience in SHE in a relevant industry
• SHE Management Systems RTMS National Standard (SANS 1395-1), SQAS Assessment system

• Good knowledge of international routes – Especially South Africa will be an added advantage
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
