Choppies – Workshop Manager

Overview:

The position reports to the General Manager, Choppies Transport.

The workshop Manager is responsible for overall workshop efficiency, operations, profitability. Staff discipline and customer Satisfaction.

The candidate should have Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, NCC and be able to lead.

Scope of work:

• To be able to work on all types of vehicles (diesel, petrol and forklifts), gearboxes and differentials, trailers and trailer fridges.
• The Workshop Manager Is responsible for supervision of all repairs on vehicles and forklifts
• Assertiveness and attention to detail
• Ability to work under no supervision
• Assists with answering technical questions on vehicle problems, warranties, service and repairs

• Regulate quality and quantity of work
• To ensure productivity and efficiency of the workshop
• Follows and ensures compliance of rules^ regulations, policies and procedures
• Safeguards the company’s core values
• Keeps shrinkage to a bare minimum
• Ensures discipline of the work force In the workshop
• Maintain an organised, clean and safe working area
• Expected to travel out of base as and when necessary
• Team player

Qualifications and Experience:

• The candidate should have Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, NCC or Journey man Class 1 Certificate.
• 10 years of experience
• Basic working knowledge of computers
