Project Overview
The USAID-funded Human Resources for Health in 2030 (HRH2030) program builds on USAID’s broader investments to improve health systems by contributing to the sustained availability, accessibility, acceptability, and quality of the health workforce. The program aligns with the approaches that support the USAID and the United States Government (USG) strategies for achieving the global health goals of ending preventable child and maternal deaths, achieving the control of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, protecting communities from infectious diseases, and contributing to the Global Health Security Agenda. The Global HRH2030 project is led by Chemonics International, with URC serving as a sub recipient and implementer in Botswana on the basis of its preceding work under the global ASSIST project. The International Development Group (IDG) is the responsible division at URC HQ providing technical and other guidance to the HRH2030 team in Botswana, in coordination with the HRH2030 project team at Chemonics. Job Summary In accordance with the HRH2030 workplan, PEPFAR strategies and arrangements with partners, Improvement Specialists are assigned to support DHMTs and service partners in specific communities, contributing to sustainable epidemic control of HIV/AIDS in the context of Government efforts to revitalize community-based primary healthcare.
Roles and Responsibilities
The HRH2030 Program has been asked by USAID under PEPFAR/Botswana to work with Botswana Government and other implementing partners to systematically adapt and improve existing models of care and their delivery, specifically in and around HIV/TB to expand access to patient-centred care, effective linkage and life-long retention to treatment in Botswana. The specific responsibilities of the Improvement Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:
