Introduction
Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing Company situated at Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts of recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis, squash, swimming and golf. There is also an excellent English medium pre-primary, primary and secondary school as well as public primary and junior secondary schools.

Specification
Reporting to the General Manager – Corporate Services, the incumbent will provide a highly effective board secretarial, legal and compliance services, ensuring the integrity of Botswana Ash’s business through incisive and best use of corporate governance. Manage all board and committee meeting logistics, attend and record minutes of all board and committee meetings and facilitate board communications. Must have a proven track record of success providing high calibre legal support and sound advice on relevant legislative, regulatory and governance issues. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for the administration function of the business which includes inter alia, office accommodation, insurance, licencing, facilities and airport management.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications -Degree in Law and/or Chartered Institute of Secretaries (CIS)
Experience-Eight (8) years post qualification experience with at least 4 years at Middle Management including Board Secretarial level.
Competencies -Presentation and Communications skills.
-Knowledge of Corporate Governance
-Understanding contracts and Service Level Agreements
-Legal knowledge and skills
-Insurance knowledge
-Knowledge of Relevant Statutes
Knowledge of SHERQ standards
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
