CHOBE GAME LODGE IN THE CHOBE NATIONAL PARK – BOTSWANA. The Mechanic is primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing of machinery. To keep vehicles and boats in good condition. Ability to diagnose a problem in vehicles, boats, and machinery. Works independently as a qualified artisan.
Key Responsibilities
- Fix and repair vehicles, boats, generators, and other motorised equipment in accordance with policies, procedures and manufacturers specifications.
- Plan and attend to repairs and servicing of equipment.
- Carry out checks to assess the quality of work.
- Ensure work complies with Environmental Management Plan.
- Monitoring vehicle, boats and other motorised equipment usage and report any incidence of improper usage.
- Provide on the job training for mechanic trade apprentices/artisans-in-training and Trainee Mechanics.
- Determine required parts and other workshop supplies, then initiate orders accordingly.
- Ensure workshop equipment and stock are kept safely and accounted for and conducting stock take.
Requirements
- National Craft Certificate (NCC) as an Auto Mechanic.
- Three (3) years post qualification experience in a similar environment.
- Driver’s license.
- Be able to fix boats, generators, and tractors.
- Safety, Health, and Environmental Certificate is an added advantage
- First Aid training certificate added advantage
- Boat Safety Training, added advantage
