MIS Developer

To oversee and actively participate in the overall reports development and data management for the organisation. This function ensures that the overall reports provided by the different IT Systems are comprehensive and covers all areas. The incumbent will gather requirements, amend, develops and supports reporting including third party reports. The incumbent is the custodian of the system operational reports and also ensures the data integrity. The incumbent also makes relevant changes to the system to cater for the reporting requirements and also takes part in system configurations. This also includes addition of new services.

• Advises the business units regarding the use of various system reports
• Provides expert knowledge to the business units regarding information needed from various systems;
• Works closely with the different business areas to understand and document their business and functional requirements
• Provides a clear strategy on the management information roadmap which feeds into the overall IT roadmap
• Understand client requirements and how to translate them into system reports and ensure that the organisational data is maintained
• Drives improvement and adoption of technological solutions by ensuring that they are used appropriately
• Delivers across the entire software development life cycle
• Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to meet business needs
• Write high quality reports templates and system changes within agreed timelines for use by the business
• Develops, tests, amends and support reports according to the business requirements following the IT processes

• Develop reports development frameworks to ease development
• Develop reusable code/ report templates and reuse existing software in development
• Develop technical document
• Makes relevant system changes and configurations to accommodate reporting requirements
• Receives requests from business for service or problems resolution
• Engages partners and suppliers on interfacing with the company systems and actively participates in developing such interfaces to manage exchange of data between different systems
• Keeping with latest trends on new techniques, frameworks and tools
• Develops adhoc reports as requested from the business
• Perform any other related duties as required

• Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science/Engineering OR equivalent qualification
• Software related certifications e.g. MCSE in BI or Data Management and Analytics
• At least 3 years’ experience for Degree holder, 2 of which should be in an MIS Environment. Experience in different reporting tools and methodologies. Knowledge of reporting tools and technologies such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, SQL
