The University is looking for a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Lecturer, Business Management & Entrepreneurship

The position is tenable at BIUST, Palapye, Botswana.

The successful candidate will be appointed on pensionable terms / fixed term contract of up to five (5) years. DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT & ENTREPRENEURSHIP LECTURER, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT & ENTREPRENEURSHIP

 

Main Purpose of the Job

• To teach and educate undergraduate and graduate students in an academic discipline and to build the knowledge base of Business, Management and Entrepreneurship through research and publications.
• To administer certain teaching activities and assist in curriculum development exercises in the Department.
• To improve personal academic credentials and to establish themselves in relevant areas of research in the Department.
• To be active in some form of professional service

Minimum requirements

A minimum of PhD in Business, Management or Entrepreneurship and ability to teach courses in the following specialty areas-

• Business Management
• Entrepreneurship
• New Venture Creation
• Design Thinking and Innovation Management
• Finance and Accounting
• Engineering Economics

Experience:

Teaching experience or cognate industrial experience, research, publications and creative works and engagement in projects or services at least on the profession or the community will be an added advantage.

The position requires the following competencies:

• Excellent oral and written English skills
• Good knowledge of the academic discipline environment

 

• Knowledge of research methodology
• Peer-reviewed publications and other evidence of professional engagement
• Ability to communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills and a range of media
• Ability to facilitate student learning using Problem Based Learning (PBL)
• Ability to synthesize information to design a learning experience
• Ability to prepare and submit proposals and applications to external bodies, e.g. for funding and accreditation purposes.
