The Ministry of Defence and Security invites applications from talented, decisive, self-driven and qualified citizens of Botswana to fill the position of

DIRECTOR – MILITARY VETERANS.

SALARY SCALE: E1 (P 487,752 – 507,480 per annum)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To coordinate development of policies, strategies and programmes and monitor implementation of Military Veterans Act, 2022.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Provides professional expertise and support in the development and review of Military Veterans’ policies and strategies.
2. Facilitates implementation of Military Veterans’ policies, strategies and programmes.
3. Facilitates development, review and implementation of reintegration programmes and interventions.
4. Oversees assessment of Military Veterans to determine their needs for appropriate interventions.
5. Coordinates administration of Military Veterans’ benefits.
6. Provides technical and secretarial support to Military Veterans Appeals Board and monitors implementation of resolutions.
7. Coordinates management and maintenance of Military Veterans’ fund.
8. Monitors establishment of structures and programmes for enhancement of stakeholder participation.
9. Collaborates with stakeholders and partners on Military Veterans’ matters.
10. Integrates and facilitates implementation of plans and programmes emanating from Military Veterans Act.
11. Monitors implementation of resolutions from Military Veterans Appeals Board.

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS PROFILE

To be considered for this position, candidate smust have at least Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or Management or BusinessAdministration or related field, complemented by sixteen (16) years post qualification experience of which two (2) years should have been served at Deputy Director level or equivalent. Master’s Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies will be an added advantage.
