Estate Construction (Pty) Ltd is looking for a results-driven and highly experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle-from planning to execution-ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction projects from start to completion.
- Develop project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource plans
- Manage project teams including engineers, site supervisors, contractors, and suppliers
- Monitor and report on progress, risks, and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, reporting, and close-out
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and government bodies
- Lead project meetings and drive problem resolution.
- Control variations, claims, and ensure profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from a recognized institution
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in managing large-scale civil engineering or building projects.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Registration with a recognized professional engineering or construction body (ERB) is an added advantage
- Postgraduate qualifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) will be a distinct advantage
- Certification in Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Advanced knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, JBCC, etc.)
- Proficient in MS Project, Primavera P6, and project cost control tool
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong commercial awareness and risk management skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship management
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities
