Boitekanelo College, a leader in providing professional health care education programs is seeking to recruit a skilled and reliable Electrician and Plumber to join our Maintenance team.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who will play a critical role in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults. The incumbents efforts will minimize downtime, maintain safety standards and support the overall success of the College.

Key Responsibilities

(i) install, inspect, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
(ii) inspect and troubleshoot electrical issues (wiring, circuit breakers, outlets) and replace faulty components (switches, thermostats, heating elements)
(iii) address emergency situations, such as tripped breakers, blown fuses, burst pipes or sewer backups
(iv) conduct routine maintenance checks and preventative maintenance
(v) ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
(vi) respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
(vii) report hazards, faults and maintenance needs to Management
(viii) perform plumbing repairs, including pipes, fittings and drainage systems.

Requirements

Attention to detail, reliability and accountability, good communication skills, time management and organisational ability.
The Candidate should have the ability to work with faculty, staff and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of three(3) years working experience
Proven experience in electrical and plumbing maintenance
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations
Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
Ability to work independently
