Key Responsibilities

  • Analyses, clarifies and records financial transactions to illustrate the effects of such transactions on the performance and financial position of Council.
  • Prepares and analyses trail balance sheet to identify misallocations and takes corrective action.
  • Negotiates interest rates with financial institutions in order to maximise returns.
  • Prepares monthly reports of revenue and expenditure statements and submits to departments to take corrective action.
  • Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Eligibility: Suitably qualified Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs employees.
  • Education: Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Experience: At least six (6) years’ work experience of which two (2) years must have been as served Accountant I-C1 salary scale.
  • Professional Registration: Prospective candidates must have been registered with Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).
