QUALIFICATIONS; Degree in Social Sciences (Public Administration or Demography) or any other related field

EXPERIENCE

Applicants should have Eight (8) years relevant post qualification experience in Research, Monitoring and two (2) of which should have been served at D3 level or its equivalent level in parastatal organizations or private sector.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To research, monitor and evaluate implementation of national policies, strategies and programmes aimed at the empowerment and wellbeing of People with Disabilities.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

1. Provides information on issues of People with Disabilities (PWDs) to stakeholders.
2. Liaises with stakeholders to ensure collection of relevant data needed for monitoring of strengths, weaknesses and gaps in the existing programmes and services provided for PWDs.
3. Develops and reviews monitoring tools to determine involvement and participation of People with Disabilities.
4. Monitors and evaluates the extent of mainstreaming of disability issues in national development policies.
5. Conducts research project on the participation and equality of people with disabilities in field such as economic activities, political life, social life, health, provision of public services, etc.

6. Analyses data collected for assessment of progress and suggests improvements.
7. Prepares reports on research findings.
8. Creates, manages and maintains national information system for all programmes and interventions in support of PWDs.
9. Monitors consistency in the application of legislation, regulations and supporting policies for PWDs.
10. Advices the Coordinator, People with Disabilities on issues relating to participation of PWDs in national programmes.
11. Prepares annual estimates of recurrent expenditure and development expenditure for programmes relating to research, monitoring and evaluation.
