Key Responsibilities
- Conduct community outreach and health education on NCDs, healthy lifestyles, and disease prevention
- Facilitate community dialogues, household visits, and awareness sessions
- Mobilise communities and engage local stakeholders and leaders
- Distribute IEC materials and promote key health messages
- Promote healthy behaviours and encourage use of preventive health services
- Support health campaigns and commemorative events
- Identify community concerns and barriers to health-seeking behaviour
- Collect and maintain accurate data during outreach activities
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly activity reports
- Document success stories, feedback and lessons learned
- Support surveys, monitoring and project evaluation
- Report emerging health concerns and challenges
- Work closely with programme staff, health facilities and partners
- Strengthen referral systems and community engagement
- Participate in trainings, meetings and capacity building activities
- Represent the organisation professionally in the community
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Social Sciences or related field
- Experience in community outreach or health promotion will be an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in community settings and travel within assigned areas
- Must be based in or have accommodation in Gaborone or surrounding areas
- Passion for public health and community development
