Key Responsibilities
- Triage and undertake comprehensive, accurate nursing assessment of presentations
- Manage acutely ill and injured patients in A&E and take appropriate action in resuscitation situations
- Maintain current, accurate and confidential documentation
- Contribute to individualised care planning, respecting patients’ right to make informed decisions
- Support out-patient consultations, treatments and minor procedures
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards at all times
- Provide nursing care according to plan and perform clinical procedures competently and safely
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana with a valid practising certificate.
- BLS/ACLS certification; acute/emergency or outpatient experience preferred.
- Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- Post-basic qualification in emergency / critical-care or ambulatory nursing (desirable)
- IV cannulation and blood-sample collection certification (desirable)
