Key Responsibilities
- Perform general diagnostic radiographs; position patients and select correct exposure factors for optimal images
- Apply radiation-protection principles for patients, staff and the public (ALARA)
- Monitor and order supplies to maintain proper stock levels
- Perform computed tomography (CT) examinations (e.g. brain, abdomen, pelvis, spine) and ensure images load correctly to PACS
- Manage TLD / dosimetry monitoring and liaise with the radiation protection authority for readings
- Maintain accurate records and support PACS/RIS image management
- Perform general ultrasound examinations (abdomen, pelvis, obstetric/gynaecological, thyroid, testis)
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Radiography from a recognised institution
- Current registration with the Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC) as a radiographer, in good standing
- Proven experience as a diagnostic radiographer across general X-ray and at least one advanced modality (CT or ultrasound)
- Sound knowledge of radiation protection, TLD dosimetry and imaging quality assurance / control
- PACS/RIS competence
- Multi-modality competence across CT, ultrasound/sonography and fluoroscopy, and theatre C-arm experience (desirable)
- Head-of-department or departmental-supervision experience (desirable)
