European Travel Translator

KENDRICK Recruitment is now offering an awesome opportunity for an individual to work in MAUN Botswana. The position is an EUROPEAN TRAVEL TRANSLATOR, and the salary on offer is between BWP15 000 and BWP 20 000 – DOEThe requirements of the post are:

• Work experience in speaking and writing English in a business and tourism context
• Work experience in speaking and writing a European language. The job incumbent will need certification to demonstrate an ability to speak and write at these levels e.g. completed high school with one of these languages as a subject, done a tertiary course, done at University etc.
• Diploma or Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business or related with a tourism focus
• At least 5 years work experience.

• Work experience needs to include working in remote tourism in Southern Africa, selling safaris, including in Botswana.
• Work experience needs to include either having done reservations consulting (consulting with travelers or agents wishing to travel to Botswana, putting itineraries and quotes together, liaising with suppliers for bookings and related administration)
• Work experience where they have had to demonstrate high-level administration and organizational skills, working under pressure, coping with the volume of work and working to tight deadlines.
• Work experience in delegating work to a more junior person, monitoring their performance and providing support and mentoring to them.

• Thorough understanding of international travelers, their needs and cultural expectations of foreign travel as well as personal international travel exposure, having traveled internationally as a tourist learning about the needs and expectations of travelers.
• Highly professional including being well presented and well spoken.
• Strong numerical skills.
• Driver’s license.
• Must be willing to be based in Maun.

Computer literacy, using Outlook, Excel, and other database technology e.g. reservations systems.
