Key Responsibilities
- Monitor response to emergency calls in the community.
- Identify emergency condition of patients and monitors the performance of advanced life support.
- Communicate relevant patient information with clients and other stakeholders.
- Monitor safe transportation of patients to appropriate health facilities.
- Address customers queries and complaints.
- Declare death after assessment in an out of hospital setting
- Take command of the emergency medical scene.
- Establish and monitor scene safety to prevent injuries to the medical crew, patient or bystanders.
- Manage the status of Ambulance equipment.
- Enforce infection control standards to ensure operation readiness of emergency equipment.
- Monitor the status of pharmacy and supplies consumables in the Emergency Medical Services Centre including the disaster response storeroom.
- Monitor the processing, reviewing and relaying of information in the Emergency Medical Services Centre.
- Monitor the use of the computer aided dispatch system, call logs and registers.
- Processing of emergency calls.
- Monitor contact with all ambulance crew on assignment.
- Monitor and respond to direct emergency alarms from patient devices such as pacemakers.
- Consolidate medical errors reports.
- Manage staff performance.
- Undertake any other related duties as may be assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Paramedic Sciences (at least 36 months training) or equivalent
- Must be licensed by Botswana Health Professions Council as Paramedic
- Possess Class B Driver’s License
- Three (3) years working experience in the field of Out of Hospital Emergency Medical Care, two (2) of which must have been at the level of Paramedic Officer or equivalent

P255,948.00 – P282,120.00 per annum
