Key Responsibilities
- contribute to the development of and implement departmental, sectional, and unit-level strategies, policies, plans, and procedures
- teach both undergraduate and graduate courses
- Conduct research and participate in research teams and collaborative projects
- Supervise student research projects, and dissertation
- Design and administer assessments that measure student learning outcomes
- Grade assignments and exams, providing detailed and constructive feedback
- provide service for the university, profession and community
- provide diagnostic support in affiliated hospital laboratories
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students
- Assist with organizing faculty/ university symposium and conferences of national importance

Requirements
- a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or (MBBS, MD, MBChB) or equivalent qualification)
- a Master of Medicine (MMed) or equivalent from a recognised institution in Anatomical Pathology/Clinical Pathology with specialization in Chemical Pathology or Hematopathology/ Clinical Pathology/Chemical Pathology
- Registered with a Valid Practising Licence (or registrable) with the Botswana Health Professions Council as a Specialist in Anatomical Pathology/Clinical Pathology/Hematopathology/Chemical Pathology
- relevant teaching experience at a university or comparable institution
- evidence of engagement in research including presenting scholarly work at seminars and conferences locally as well as internationally, participation in research teams and collaborative programs, participation in reference committees, and participation in peer review of manuscripts
- Knowledge and understanding of teaching principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with students and diverse stakeholders
