Radiographer – Bokamoso Hospital

Role Summary

To provide high quality diagnostic imaging services as per standard operating procedures and issue results for use in the diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases.

Key Work Output and Accountabilities

• To ensure compliance to radiation policies and procedures based on Radiation Protection Act and regulations.
• Administers radiopaque substances by injection, orally, or as enemas to render internal structures and organs visible on medical imaging modalities.
• To advice and guide specialist doctors in performing biopsies using either ultra sound computerized tomography after proper diagnoses.
• To advice specialist doctors and colleagues on relevant modalities for certain or specific medical conditions.

• To offer patient education, counseling and advisory service and where necessary issues consent form to be signed by the patient/guardian.
• Ensures safe usage of the pump injectors in all relevant areas and provide adequate training and maintain expertise in IV cannulation for the injection of contrast media.

Inherent Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in diagnostic Radiography
• Registration with Botswana Health Professional Council a pre-requisite
• For Degree holders, 4 year working experience as a registered Radiographer in a hospital setting
• Skills and knowledge in either MRI/CT/ultrasound/Mammography it’s pre-requisite
