Experience /Knowledge and skills
• Three (3) years post qualification experience preferably in an insurance institution.
• Exposure to a management accounting environment
• Experience in complex financial environment with various income streams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Computer Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Qualifications
• Chartered Accountant , ACCA or an /equivalent
• Should be BICA registered, or if not already registered should be able to register prior to commencing employment

Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager. The incumbent is responsible for the provision of high quality financial management information and professional advice to senior management and HODS. The role drives monthly variance analysis process for respective departments and the implementation plan to correct significant variances and provides regular insights to enable quality day to day decision making.

Key Performance Areas
Financial Management (Budgeting, Monitoring & Tracking)
• To lead the month and year end process in line with the organisation’s deadline, ensuring all accrual and prepayments are made in line with financial procedures.
• To investigate and report on significant budgetary variances identifying remedial action to be taken.
• To analyse the month end financial position investigate variances and make appropriate adjustments if necessary in line with internal procedures.
• To produce monthly detailed management accounts for HODs, summarising the financial performance to date and providing explanations of key vacancies.

• To support the preparation of regular and ad hoc financial statement, variance analysis and to produce a forecast out-turns position monthly for management reviews.
• To work with budget holders to ensure that the necessary financial checks are made.
Year End Financial Planning
• Support year-end financial management and reporting including assisting with the completion of the Annual Financial Statements and the annual statutory audit process.
• To assist in the preparation of future year budgets considering relevant activity data cost pressures and service development and work with Departmental Managers to establish budgetary submission.
• Develop robust income plans in conjunction with departmental Managers ensuring that opportunities are explored and risks are quantified.

• Make presentations to the Board of Directors along with senior management on the financial aspects of the business.
Business Analysis
• To analyse the impact of process changes and provide the cost implications of process redesign, adjusting budgets in accordance with changes in service provision if necessary.
• To contribute numerical and /or graphical information that will form part of Board Dashboards or information showing progress on the strategy.
• Contributes to the development of financial policies and procedures within the Finance Team and the organisation.

Risk Management
• Drive the departmental risk registers in conjunction with the company risk coordinator.
• Drives the implementation of the departmental mitigations controls.
• Ensures process owners closes all audit by both internal and external audit.
• Assist procurement with supplier evaluation process.
