VACANCY: SPECIAL CONSTABLES THIRTEEN (13) POSTS, 11TENABLE IN SEROWE POLICE STATION,1 TENABLE AT MALATSWAI POLICE POST AND 1 TENABLE AT MMASHORO POLICE POST

VACANCY: Pursuant to Section 43 of the Botswana Police Service Act Cap 21:01 that provides for the employment of Special Constables, applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment as Special Constables in the Botswana Police Service, 9 males and 2 females in Serowe, 1 male at Malatswai Police Post and 1 male at Mmashoro Police Post. The appointment shall be for a period of 2 years contract renewable when needs arise.

Remuneration: The salary attached to the above post is in the Scale A.1 (P23, 892.00 TO P28, 536.00) per annum.

NB: No housing accommodation will be provided.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants:
• Should be males and females who are citizens of Botswana
• Should be mentally and physically fit
• Should be between18 and 24 years
• Should have no criminal record
• To be BGCSE holders with 30 points and at least a “C” in English

NATURE AND PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To provide voluntary service to the Botswana Police Service in performing duties such as:

• Beat Patrol to prevent crime
• Preserve scenes of crime
• Carryout an arrest effectively
• Conduct, search and seize property in accordance with the law
• Receive customers courteously
• Implement community policing strategies
• Maintain some police registers, notebooks, occurrence books etc.
• Statement taking
