Bokamoso Private Hospital – Family Physician

To provide a comprehensive holistic personal acute and chronic medical care, health maintenance services and preventive health services to all members of the family

Key Work Output and Accountabilities

• Diagnoses and treat a wide range of acute health care problems, including but not limited to infections, musculoskeletal problems, acute asthmatic attacks etc.
• Inform consultants of any admission or change in the conditions of their patients and any emergency procedures undertaken.
• Provide comprehensive illness prevention services such as well woman services and well man services
• Provide other services appropriate to the age life experience of the patient.
• Liaises closely with rehabilitation health professionals to enhance the patient’s recovery from acute physical problems
• Adhere to safety health and environment policies and procedures

Inherent Requirements

• Degree in Medicine WHO recognised
• Postgraduate degree in Family Medicine
• Registered as a Family Physician with Botswana Health Professional Council as a pre-requisite
• 8-10 years working experience as doctor in a clinical environment plus 7 years practising as a Family Physician
• Experience in emergency medicine / community health / public health orientation and patient care management is a pre-requisite
