Introduction

Northern Air Maintenance is an Approved Aircraft Maintenance Organization based at Maun International Airport maintaining own group and a very small select of 3rd party aircraft flying into the Delta and the region. Approved by Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe Civil Aviation Authorities, Northern Air Maintenance currently employs 56 staff of which more than 20 are qualified and licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. It has a well-established Avionics Workshop which includes the only approved Instrument Overhaul workshop in Botswana. We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic and dedicated individual with a passion and proven experience in the aviation engineering field. The applicant will be based in Maun and should be prepared to travel into remote areas from time to time. The fleet is biased towards Cessna and Pratt and Whitney turbine powered aircraft

MAINTENANCE MANAGER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the servicing, repair, and overall maintenance of aircraft and aircraft engines and accessories to the highest standards as per international safety standards. Oversees the scheduling of repairs and maintenance whilst ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within the forecasted budget. The Maintenance Manager provides support to the aircraft maintenance team regarding projects, tasks, and operations by means of guidance and mentorship. The individual is required to show means of compliance in terms of the company Maintenance Procedures Manual meeting the requirements as stipulated by the CAAB and other Authorities who includes CAAZ, ZCAA and NCAA in conjunction with Civil Aviation Regulations of Botswana and ensures that all personnel compliant to the said Regulations.

Specification

•Managing all production staff and making sure effective methods are put in place to properly account for their daily productivity activities. This will include graphs and other acceptable methods to monitor individual production.
•Making sure all tasks carried out are recorded and accounted for with reference to Log Book Entries and invoicing.
•Managing and accounting for all company tooling and equipment and have a replacement plan for aging tooling/equipment
•Promoting innovation/creativeness and ensuring that the service is not compromised through establishing adequate processes and procedures.
•Ensuring standards on quality, cost, safety, timeliness and performance are met.
•Delivering of reports, budgets and forecasts.

•Checking and verifying maintenance records, coordinating the maintenance of the aircraft
•Responsible for producing and submitting operational information and reports on all “major” events, changes, improvements, failures, tech log summaries, aircraft detailed summaries as well as delivering specific operational information required by finance as and when requested from the aircraft maintenance department.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS

•A holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License with ratings relevant to the type of aircraft serviced by NAM
•Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Aviation Maintenance Management.
•Proven past experience as Maintenance Manager or similar management position is essential.
•Proven working experience in an aerospace environment for a minimum of 10 years.
•Proven record of outstanding staff/ employee relations.

•Proven knowledge of the Civil Aviation Regulations of Botswana.

COMPETENCIES
•Familiar with the aircraft maintenance procedures of the type of aircraft maintained by NAM
•Familiar with NAM clients AMPs read together with their MCMs.
•Knowledge and Understanding of CAAB and other Authorities Regulations and relevant publications.
•Experience and competencies in servicing, repairs, modifications to Cessna Caravans including their Powerplants (PT6A-114A and -140 engines). Able to carry out Borescope Inspections, Hot section inspections and accessory gearbox repairs to the fleet maintained by NAM
•Must have extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

•Able to perform a variety of complex tasks including Borescope Inspections, Hot section inspections, accessory gearbox repairs to the Turbine fleet maintained by NAM.
•Proven training skills in the specialist areas in order to impart knowledge to the subordinates
•A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
