OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

• Supervision of staff including motivation, team building, performance management etc
• Responsible for drivers, assistantsand sub contractors

   

   

• Receiving, processing and dispatch of all inbound and outbound freight
• Document control if all inbound and outbound documentation e.g. fax pre alert, confirmation of fax pre alert, confirmation of freight received schedule, MAWB and manifest etc
• Consignment are adequately identified and marked for transportation
• Ensure optimum utilisation of vehicles daily
• Ensure staff planning and relevant shifts
• Correct staging of cargo to expedite controlled loading and verification/ scanning of freight
• Regular inspection of warehouse including neatness and general housekeeping
• Movement of freight and freight handling
• Own your number
• Responsible for POD management

   

   

*REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION*

-BGCSE (Tertiary qualification will be advantageous)
– Experience of courier/ Road Freight Industry essential
– Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in the courier and freight industry
-Strong leadership skills
– Computer literate ( Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
– Proficient with systems ( I.e Microsoft products, tracking systems e.g. Trentrac Crosstrac etc)
-Excellent communication and client relations and service orientation skills
– Good planning and organizing skills

– Ability to use initiative
– Attention to detail and follow up skills
– Administrative skills
– Good planning and organizing skills
– Decision making Skills
– Sound communication skills- both written and verbal
-Prepared to work extended hours and weekends
