LEGAL OFFICER

Reporting to the Country Manager, the focus of the job is to manage all Lion Tutoring contracts with Clients, employees, debtors, creditors, banks and all other stakeholders. The Legal officer has to also be in a position to represent the company in a court of law OR able to refer company to a relevant representative during a legal case.

• Drafting, managing and filing all contracts with clients, employees, creditors, debtors, banks and other stakeholders;
• Ensuring the Company complies with all Statutory and/or legal requirements, with Government institutions such as (BURS, CIPA, BQA, MoESd, MYSC, etc);
• Drafting all MOA/MOU documents for company agreements with third parties online and in person;
• Managing and keeping record of all agreements made with clients online via online purchases;
• Updating Terms and Conditions and engaging all new customers to understand and agree with conditions;
• Updating Codes of Conduct for employees and students.

• Bachelors degree in Law (Company Law or General)
• At least a year experience working for a reputable organisation, performing company legal related tasks;
• Understanding the Legal and Company Law ecosystem, and interaction with the Government and the general public, legally;

Other Skills

• Analytical skills;
• Basic understanding of Company Law in Botswana (i.e major and minor clauses);
• Ability to communicate with Board of Directors, what is needed in each legal and internal case;
• Ability to plan and coordinate deadlines for reports;
• Ability to deliver under pressure;
• Ability to manage expectations.

Basic salary of P3 000 (To increase with the number of branches managed).
