PR, COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING EXECUTIVE

Job Summary:

Reporting to PR, Communications and Marketing Manager, the incumbent is responsible for driving the execution of the Public Relations, Communications and Marketing Strategy and plans to achieve strategic goals

Key Performance Areas

– Manage brand appeal according to brand manual and governance
– Ensure merchandise and promotional items are well in line with the brand manual
– Acts as a brand champion by ensuring all stakeholders involved in displaying the Botswana Life brand conform to brand guidelines.
– Liaises closely with advertising agencies to ensure that merchandising material is produced in-line with brand guidelines.
– Executes marketing campaigns (product and brand) as per the marketing campaign schedule.
– Assists the Marketing and Communications Manager with all external and internal communication

– Liaises closely with advertising agencies to ensure that appropriate advertising material is developed in-line with product and brand campaigns
– Ensure that all products are well pronounced and visible to market
– Implement consistent communication across the organization
– Ensure timely update of corporate communication content on company website and intranet.
– Coordinate public relations activities and communications including press releases, social media, company literature, editorial calendars, articles, announcements and media kits. Coordinate content for all advertising material which includes radio, online, print and digital based on the integrated marketing communications strategy.
– Closely manage the Marketing, public relations, communications and CSI budget.
– Execute marketing & communications campaigns (product and brand) as per the marketing campaign schedule.

– Coordinate the production and use of internal communications platforms, such as intranet, newsletters, memos, including CEO’s Brief, Internal Communications Email.
– Implement identified Change Management initiatives to promote uptake of corporate values & corporate strategic objectives amongst staff.
– Implement event planning & management logistics for PR generated events.
– Implement and organize internal engagement of staff as required ( eg staff briefings and preparing information to be disseminated to staff.)
– Organise and execute all product launch events, CEO Roadshows and client engagement events.
– Prepare all internal marketing briefs to ensure that all internal stakeholders are aware of marketing campaigns and initiatives.

– Undertake media Monitoring & Analysis, as well as issue-spotting.
– Draft & place media releases.
– Implement BLIL Social Media Strategy
– Implement Company’s CSI framework and make sure all activities are in line with the overall company strategy and direction

Minimum Education or Qualifications:

– Degree in Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Marketing)

Competencies:

– Resource planning and coordination

– Proven ability to organise and clearly communicate thought and ideas
– Computer skills – demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
– Sound Business Acumen
– Quality Assurance
– Change Management

Key Skills and Experience:

– A minimum of Five (5) years post qualification experience in an insurance or financial services environment
– Strong written and verbal communication skills

– Analytical Skills with sense of urgency and thoroughness
– Presentation skills
– Effective Computer skills
– Ability to influence decisions
