MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE – ELECTRICAL

Job Summary

The successful candidate carries out repairs, services and installations on plant, machinery and equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• O’ levels
• Trade Test B (MTTC qualification) for the relevant trade or equivalent
• 1-year post qualification experience In an engineering environment or successful completion of the Operatives Development Programme (OOP)

Key Activities

• Participates In the control of sectional costs by optimizing resource utilization in the area of work
• Performs Inspections on any equipment/machinery/environment in order to establish any defects, assessing specific requirements and reporting findings as appropriate
• Removes and replaces defective components/parts as directed by the relevant supervisor
• Confirms the availability of consumables with a supervisor.
• Operates specialized and power/hand tools relevant to his or her trade which he/ she was trained on (e.g. Impact wrenches, electric drills, saws, grinding wheels oxy-acetylene torch etc

• Performs basic repairs, installations and any other work, tor the operation of all machinery, plant, equipment In area of responsibility, tor which they are suitably qualified
• Carries out bask: troubleshooting.
• Reads and interprets basic technical drawings and workshop manuals.
• Cleans, stores and performs basic maintenance on the equipment as required
• Carries out administrative functions taking Into consideration the need to create a clear audit trail
• Adheres to all Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures in area of response
