Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the above post in the Office of the Ombudsman, Gaborone.

Salary scale: B5 P29 628 – P35 256 (per annum)

Leave: 20 working days

Qualifications: Direct entry to this grade requires a minimum of Primary School Leaving Examinations Certificate. The candidate should be able to read and write both Setswana and English languages, and should be in possession of class “B” Botswana driver’s license with a minimum of one (1) year proven driving experience

Main Purpose of the Job:

To transport officers in and around Gaborone, and on official trips within the country.

Duties:
i. Operates light motor vehicles up to 3500 kg maximum weight including trailer (750kg) and any other permitted by the license;
ii. Performs routine vehicle maintenance, which includes removal and fitment of tyres, washing of vehicles and ensuring that tyres are inflated to the correct pressure;
iii. Performs pre-trip inspection and ensures that the vehicle they are assigned is roadworthy;
iv. Cleans vehicle-parking areas; and
v. Ensures the proper loading of authorized loads, the security and safety of loads being
carried and the safe unloading of their vehicle at destinations.
