Sidilega Private Hospital is a premium Multi-Specialty Tertiary Hospital located in Block 7, Gaborone.  It is expected to be completed at the end of 2018. The Hospital aim is to attract local patients and those from the rest of the SADC region and beyond for health care services.

REF: AS007.          PHARMACY MANAGER                          

Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, the Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for delivering high quality pharmaceutical services, pharmacy resource mobilisation and leading pharmacy team and ensuring customers and patients receive quality care in compliance with Botswana and international Healthcare legislative frameworks and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:-

• Plans, evaluates and manages medication protocols in a safe environment that minimises medication errors leading to better patients’ outcomes.

• Undertakes necessary audits to ensure that management systems are efficiently applied and optimised resulting in satisfied patients and internal customers.

• Manages patients and customer complaints promptly including ensuring that prescription turn-around time is adhered to.

• Liaises with Medical practitioners and develops Pharmacy quality initiatives and manages the implementation of product conversions.

• Provides direction and ensures that team members live the organisational be demonstrating behaviours consistent with the hospital aspiration being patient centric and will do this by ensuring that :-

1. All staff is properly oriented into Hospital culture
2. Team members are continuously upgrading their skills in line with their professional development plans

1. Organises, leads and motivates team members and ensures that they adhere to behavioural standards as guided by the hospital values, code of conducts, quality and safety rules as amended from time to time

• Mobilises resources to achieve required stock targets and minimise wastage

 Minimum Job Requirements

Education

BSc in Pharmacy or equivalent

Current registration with BHPC

Experience

Successful candidate should have worked in hospital pharmacy with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience, two of which should have been at supervisory level.

Experience within Private healthcare environment will be an added Advantage
