REF: PS003: SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR    

Purpose of the Job

Reporting to Reception Supervisor the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and operating a busy switchboard, answering in a professional and timeous manner, and directing calls accurately and appropriately.

Key Responsibility

• Performs all Switchboard Operator duties.
• Handles all enquiries that come through the switchboard professionally and efficiently.

• Responds to inquiries aimed at hospital services or procedures.

• Provides the required information to clients, and direct them to appropriate staff members or department
• Co-ordinates and maintain the hospital intercom / paging system where applicable.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

Form V plus a relevant Customer service or related qualification or equivalent with a pass in English

Experience

Three years’ experience in a similar position
