Vacancy: Borehole Mechanic – Tenable in Ramatlabama (National Artificial Insemination Laboratory and Training Centre)

Vacancy Circular No. 8 of 2018

Applications are invited from highly motivated and suitably qualified citizens of Botswana for the post of Borehole Mechanic in Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security tenable in Ramatlabama. Southern District.

Salary Scale:                B3     (P42 252.00 – P50 520.00 per annum)

Leave:                           20    working days per annum

Benefits:                         i)   Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%) ii) Contributory Pension Scheme for Permanent and Pensionable Appointment (Government Pays 15% and employee pay 5%)

Qualifications:              Trade   Test B  or C in Borehole  Mechanics

Experience:                   One     (I) year proven work experience in

Borehole mechanics or related field.

Main purpose of the job:

To attend to all borehole mechanical faults

Responsibility:

• Servicing the engine
• Report to supervisor all mechanical fault*
• Supervises the borehole engine pumper
• Ensure that cleanliness is maintained in the engine pump house and the engine
• Ensures and maintains smooth operation of taps around the farm and institutional houses
• Conduct regular inspections for leakages on the reticulation line around the farm
• Preparing status periodic report*
• Undertakes any other duly to meet exigencies of the service
