Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the job is to plan, organise, co-ordinate and implement financial management strategies, policies and procedures in compliance with Statistics Botswana statutory reporting requirement and best international financial reporting practices to ensure accurate, complete, timely and relevant financial management information that facilitate decision making.

THE JOB

The position will be responsible for among other things the following:

Planning, organising and supervising the implementation of efficient and secure processes and procedures for the accurate accounting for payroll.

Reviewing payroll accounts and preparing monthly reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of staff remuneration.

Quality assuring and approving payroll payments requests in accordance with delegated authority and procedures.

Maintaining proper records to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial management information pertaining to payroll accounting.

Preparing timely financial reports and all relevant information for audit.

Undertaking such other related duties as directed by Supervisor.

THE PERSON

The right candidate will possess the following:

At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.

At least five (5) years post qualification in payroll administration, with detailed knowledge of IT systems (Sage, VIP, SAP etc.) to enhance quality of payroll administration.

Professional qualification, CIMA, ACCA, CPA or any other equivalent/related qualification from a recognised institution or any other equivalent/related qualification will be an added advantage.
