VACANCY: AUTOPSY ASSISTANTS (3 POSTS)

Botswana Police Service is offering an excellent carrier opportunity to highly motivated individuals for the position of Autopsy Assistant. The vacancies exist in the Forensic Science Services and are tenable in Gaborone and Francistown

SALARY SCALE: B3/B2 (P42 252 – P50 520)

LEAVE: 20 working days

BENEFITS:
(i) Optional contributory medical aid scheme (Government Pays 50% and employee 50%).
(ii) Contributory pension scheme (Government pays 15% and employee 5%)

QUALIFICATION
• Botswana General Certificate in Secondary Education (BGCSE), 36 points and above with at least C in English, Maths and Biology and any other Science subject.
Or
• Cambridge overseas Secondary Certificate (COSC) with first and second class pass with atleast C in English, Maths, Biology and any Science subject.
Or
• Certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technology or equivalent tertiary Science subjects will be an added advantage.

Main purpose of the job: To assist the Forensic Pathologist in performing Medico Legal Investigations on dead persons in Botswana
Duties:
• To assist Pathologists in Performing post mortems.
• Helps in preserving corpses.
• Prepares paper work pertaining to post mortems.
• Maintains mortuary equipment and stock levels of consumables.
• Maintains absolute cleanliness of mortuary.
• Carries out preventative service on all mortuary equipment and instruments.
• Undertakes any other related duties as may be required to meet the exigencies of the service.
